After a one-year education at the Bergische Kunstschule in Germany, Alexander Rehn began to study interior design at The Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown of Munich, and graduated in 2010 with a focus on product design. In 2012, he founded Alexander Rehn Design Studio, which is based in Munich. The studio designs products and environments with the future and the changing world in mind. His approach is that new realities create new designs. From 2012 to 2015, he was Assistant Professor of Product Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 2020, Alexander Rehn was named Newcomer of the Year by Materia for his Rocca stool.
