An easy charir for those who love a comfortable and reclined sitting position. The easy chair’s soft interior, with its generous padding, ensures a high level of seating comfort, while the slightly tighter exterior creates a distinctive look. Bon easy chair is sleek, which makes it suitable for many different meeting spaces. Combine the easy chair with the Bon footstool, which can also function as an extra seat. The easy chair and footstool’s cushions are removable, making them easy to clean. Bon easy chair has a swivel base with return as well as a lockable tilt function. The footstool’s frame is fixed. The cross base is available in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating.

COUTURE metal table

A small, discreet, and flexible table that can be used in several ways. It works just as well on its own as it does when combined with other coffee tables. In addition, placing several tables together in a stand transforms them into a practical and stylish room divider. When placed against a wall, it becomes a nice shelf. As standard, the table and frame are now available in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating. Optional extras include a shelf in white pigmented ash, and a plant tray in galvanised steel plate.

DOMINO armchair

The short armrests give the armchair character, and provide the user with extra comfort. The armrests also make the chair easier to move around, and facilitate getting closer to the edge of the table. The anti-slip underside protects table tops when hanging. Material in FSC®-labelled wood, with the armrests and frame in solid ash, and the seat and back in veneered ash. You can choose between two surface treatment options: white pigmented or black stained ash. Just like the Domino chair, the Domino armchair is available with an upholstered seat, or with an upholstered seat and an upholstered inside backrest. Optional extras include connectors and sound absorbers. The Domino armchair is also great for stacking.

DOMINO table

The Ø900 mm round table is now also available in a height of 1100 mm, in addition to 730 mm and 900 mm. The new height is a complement to the bar stool, which is 780 mm high. The entire Domino range is made from FSC®-labelled wood, which means that it generates a minimal carbon footprint. The Ø900 mm table has pillars of solid ash, as well as tabletops of either solid rod-glued ash or veneered ash, available in either a white pigment or stained black. The decorative metal fastener under the table top, as well as the sand-cast iron foot, both in the Colours by Materia (CbM) dark grey powder coating. The tables are suitable for many different spaces, for example cafés, canteens, and break areas. The Domino table range also includes rectangular tables.

NEO LITE SOFT easy chair

An easy chair with softer seating comfort. A new feature is that it now has additional padding, which makes it even more comfortable. The fabric is sewn in a, for the product, specially designed quilted pattern that gives the easy chair its character and its own look. The lower seat height makes it suitable for lounge spaces such as receptions, entrances, and break areas. The easy chair’s frame is made of FSC®-labelled wood in white pigmented, or white or black stained ash and now also clear lacquered walnut. The metallic wire frame is available in chrome or Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating.

The beautiful lines of Neo Lite and Neo Lite Soft create a comfortable bar stool/chair that looks interesting and active, no matter which direction you approach it from. Behind the clean, self-explanatory design lies a solid piece of workmanship. All of the details have been extensively tested and reviewed. Seat shell in Colours by Materia (CbM*). Available non-upholstered or with an upholstered seat, as well as fully upholstered. The Neo Lite Soft chair has a beautiful quilted pattern that has been specially designed for the product. The Neo Lite range’s frame is made of solid FSC®-labelled wood, available in either white pigmented or black stained ash. This autumn’s new feature is that the frame is now also available in walnut.

OAS modular sofa

The flexible modular sofa has been given more options. The 1-seater model can now be fitted with optional castors, and a lamp is available for the wide armrest. These new features make Oas an even more multifaceted, changeable, and functional piece of furniture. The option of easily moving for example a seat unit with a desktop means that you get a mobile workplace. The black lacquered lamp, which is turned on and off by pulling the lamp shade up and down, is practical, but also provides an elegant look.

RE-FOLD cushion

This new product is part of our unique sustainability mindset, where leftover fabric from our production is reused when designing a new product. Re-fold is made from leftover fabric in a darker shade at the back, as well as a decorative top edge at the front, combined with a lighter shade at the bottom of the front. This gives you a flexible cushion with dual looks, two-tone on one side and a uniform colour on the other. The padding is also made from recycled siliconised ball fibre. Choose between three sizes: 600 x 600 mm, 550 x 350 mm, and 450 x 450 mm, as well as selected colours from Colours by Materia (CbM*). The fabrics used in these unique cushions depend on which leftover fabrics are available on the day of production.

Der Neo Lite Soft ist eine Weiterentwicklung des Neo Lites. Wie der Name schon sagt, bietet Neo Lite Soft einen weicher anmutenden Sitzkomfort. Der Stoff ist außerdem in einem gesteppten Muster genäht, das ihm Charakter und einen individuellen Ausdruck verleiht. Dieser Stuhl und der Lehnstuhl eignen sich hervorragend für Bereiche, in denen man länger sitzt und daher ein bequemer Stuhl benötigt wird, zum Beispiel in Büros, Hotels, Konferenzräumen, Cafés und Restaurants. Dank der niedrigeren Sitzhöhe eignet der Sessel sich gut für verschiedene Lounge-Umgebungen, wie Empfänge, Lobbys und Pausenbereiche. Die Domino-Serie zeichnet sich durch leichte organische Formen und ansprechende gestalterische Charakterzüge aus. Die elegante Serie wird um eine Bank in zwei Längen ergänzt, die an den kurzen und langen rechteckigen Domino-Tisch angepasst ist und der Stuhl erhält Verbindungsbeschläge und Schallabsorber. Die warme Optik des Holzes, die verdeckten Einfassungen sowie die ovale Form der Beine tragen zu einer ansprechenden Gesamterscheinung bei. Die Serie ist aus FSC®-zertifiziertem Holz gefertigt, wodurch sie einen minimalen CO2-Fußabdruck erzeugt. Das Gestell der Bank besteht aus Massivholz, während die Sitzfläche aus Furnier gefertigt ist. In den Ausführungen weiß pigmentierte oder schwarz gebeizte Esche erhältlich. Ambient ist eine Sitzbank, bei deren Konzeption der Fokus auf ein formschönes Design und Komfort gerichtet wurde. Die Konstruktion ist stabil, zugleich jedoch Ausdruck einer schlichten, minimalistischen und eleganten Formensprache. Ambient hat viele Wahlmöglichkeiten sowie verschiedene Sitzbanklängen, diverse Armlehnenvarianten, Abschirmwände mit oder ohne Zeitschriftenhalter sowie Tische, die eine praktische Abstellfläche bieten. Die separaten Sitzeinheiten können bei Bedarf leicht ausgetauscht werden. Die Tischplatten aus weiss pigmentierter oder schwarz gebeizter Massivesche bzw. HPL-Laminat sind ebenso wie der Holzrahmen FSC®-zertifiziert. Als Ergänzung sind Zargen und Zeitschriftenhalter für die Tischplatten sowie eine schwarze Blumenplatte erhältlich. During week 14 we celebrate the FSC week! This year, the campaign is about biodiversity among insects and animals found in our forests. They are small, but numerous and form an important part of the forest ecosystem. YARN armchair

Yarn is a unique and environmentally friendly armchair developed in the experimental collaborative project called “The Kinship Method”. The armchair with its few components, has a light weight and an almost floating look. Sustainability and the environmental impact have been central to the design and choice of materials. In Materia’s production, the backrest´s beautiful pattern is braided by hand using hemp strings. The seat and back cushions are padded with hairlok, which is a mixture of horsehair and natural latex, as well as needle felt. To provide extra comfort, wool is also included as part of the back cushion. The wood is FSC®-labelled, and the frame with recycled steel is available in all Colours by Materia (CbM*) colours. Yarn is suitable for many different spaces, such as hotels, restaurants, and in offices. The armchair is also an excellent choice when environmentally friendly furniture is a requirement.

UNI folding table

The Uni folding table complements the flexible Uni table series. The four lockable castors with intermitted brakes make the table easy to move, as well as stable and steady when locked. The folding table can easily be folded together by pulling the bar under the table top towards oneself. It is available in three sizes and several different finishes. A stacking protector prevents scratches when the tables are stacked together for storage. The Uni folding table is suitable for meeting rooms, cafeterias, social spaces, and lecture halls. PILOT conference chair, high back

Pilot is a conference chair with an enhanced sense of support and an inviting design. The gently sloping backrest gives character but, above all, comfort. The backrest is available in two different heights, low and high. The high backrest is new for the spring of 2022. This gives the conference chair an even more exclusive look, and makes it perfect for longer meetings, as you can lean back and receive support for your entire back and head. Details such as the gently arched armrests and the opening between the seat and the backrest create a functional design. Pilot is height-adjustable, rotatable, and has a tilt function, which provides a flexible and ergonomic way of sitting. The wood is FSC®-labelled. The frame is available in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating. Choose between castors and glides.

Since the end of August, we have had the honour of having two students from France with us at Materia, Lena Chasseloup and Anatole Durre who normally study at the EPF School of Engineering in Paris, France.

How has it been living in Sweden this autumn?
– This semester in Sweden was a great experience! It was nice to discover a new culture. The nature around Tranås is beautiful, and we were able to enjoy the lake, at least when it was not yet frozen. We had a great time here and we don’t want to go back.

What have you been doing during your time at Materia?
– The work carried out during this internship focused on a time study, with the aim of moving from a weekly to a daily planning. For this, we had to carry out a frequency study as well as a study of production times. Once these studies were completed, a solution had to be found to plan on a daily basis. The solution we chose was to develop an Excel program to automatically schedule and allocate each order by day according to priorities.

What have you learned?
– This internship gave us a better understanding of how a company works. We learned more about production lines and how to make a piece of furniture. We also learned to conduct studies, and deepened our knowledge of programming. This internship was also an opportunity to improve our Swedish.

What is the best thing about being an intern at Materia?
– The best thing about Materia is the very nice atmosphere, everyone was kind and welcoming with us. This is a part of the reason why we will keep very good memories of this internship.

Is there something special about Sweden you will miss when you return to France?
– What we will certainly miss are the people we have met. We will also have a hard time getting rid of good Swedish habits like Fika. The fresh air of Tranås will also be missed.

– It has been a pleasure to have Lena and Anatole at Materia for almost 4 months. With their commitment and curiosity, they have achieved a lot during their time with us. They have been an appreciated addition to our team and we wish them all the best in the future! says production technician Mikael Gustavsson.

CAP stool

Cap, an easily positioned stool, was inspired by sewing thimbles. Its light weight and distinct shape make it easy to take out for impromptu meetings at workstations or to provide extra seating in meeting rooms or lounge environments. The stacking rings for the non-upholstered Cap, are now new in CbM* as standard. The stool also comes fully upholstered in Remix fabric from Kvadrat. The great selection of colours makes it easy to fit into any environment. A stacking trolley is available as an optional extra.

Now launching a fully upholstered seat shell in fabric or leather and a wooden frame in solid white pigmented or black stained ash. ROCCA stool
Design: Alexander Rehn

The Rocca stool has a playful design that helps the body to keep active. The steel tubing gives the stool a minimalistic appearance, something that also makes it unique. The ring encourages movement and the seat lets you sit comfortably. Together they form a unit that interacts. There are now optional hanging devices to protect the table tops and simplify when cleaning. Rocca is a different kind of seating that is easy to carry around in activity-based meeting places. Frame in chrome or CbM* powder coating. Rocca is available in height 500 and 615 mm.

AMBIENT beam sofa

The Ambient beam sofa focuses on design and comfort. While sturdy, the design is neat, minimalistic and elegant. The seat units can easily be replaced individually, if necessary. Ambient has many options, such as different beam lengths, several armrests, screens with or without magazine holders and tables that provide a pleasant extra surface. The solid wood table tops, like the wooden seat base, are FSC® labelled. Power sockets in the table top and fittings for floor mounting are available as accessories. Frame in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating. Ambient beam sofa is suitable for airports, hospitals and schools.

PICNIC stool/bench/table/metal box

Design: Marie Oscarsson

The Picnic furniture series in solid white pigmented ash with metal fixings in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating, gives a robust and playful impression. Picnic is particularly suitable for the school’s lunch restaurant or as a meeting place in the office. The table has a straight side and a rounded side, making it easy to furnish with the straight side against a wall and the rounded side out into the room. The bench seat follows the same shape and has an optional grey felt pad for increased sitting comfort. The pad is easily attached to the underside of the bench using velcro. With a stool or two in the same finish, the table’s short ends can be used for additional seating. For the Picnic series there is also a designed metal box with four electrical or USB sockets connected with a black and white textile cable. The box also comes empty for potted plants, cutlery, spices, note pads and pens.

RO easy chair/sofa

The Ro easy chair/sofa invites from afar and gives a feeling of immersion when you sit down. Comfort and a long-term approach are at the heart of this design. The seat’s comfort comes from Dymetrol®, an elastic fabric with a springy effect. The back and armrests cushions, held in place by a mesh fabric, are soft and full. The mesh fabric is available in three different colours and the frame in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating. Fastening the removable fabric and leather upholstery with concealed velcro is a practical feature. Ro is suitable for all meeting places that need comfortable and durable seating.

TODAY bench

Design: Mia Cullin

The Today bench is characterised by being flexible and easy to position. The many connection options, allow you to extend the design indefinitely for places like schools, shopping malls and offices. The system consists of benches in different lengths, and a corner section with seating space, side table or planting pot. The units can be connected lengthwise as well as angled in any direction. The benches can also stand independently. The leg design gives an elegant impression in chrome or Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating finish. The parts can easily be replaced if necessary and the solid wood table top can be sanded down and relacquered. Under-seat electrical sockets/USB are available as accessories.

UNI LARGE conference table

Uni Large is a versatile conference table tailored to modern meeting places. It is subtly designed to work in several types of environments. The richness in design of the conference table is exemplified by the foot’s die-cast details and the chamfered edge of the table top. Taken together with its scaled-down structure, the table almost seems to float. The relatively low foot means that chairs can be placed anywhere around the table. Also chairs with high armrests can usually be pushed completely under the table top. The table is available in a number of formats and finishes and is easy to customise. Frame in Colours by Materia (CbM*) powder coating. A cable lid and electrical/USB sockets are available as options. The fabric covered electrical cable is led from the cable trench down through the pillar. In the case of two electrical sockets, the cables are gathered together and routed down with only one cable in the pillar, giving a tidy impression.

2020 has been a strange and trying year for many, also for us at Materia. It was a year in which we needed to change and adapt to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. Equipped with new insights and ways of working, we are now looking forward to 2021 and hope it will be a year in which we can meet again in person.

Despite all the turbulence, we have been fully focused on developing new, well-designed products. These exciting novelties will be launched in the spring of 2021, but we don’t yet know exactly how and when. We are awaiting the recommendations of the Swedish authorities. Therefore, as an early Christmas present, we are offering a sneak peek in the film below.

ANAGRAM Barhocker
Die Anagram-Familie wird um einen stapelbaren Barhocker ergänzt, der in zwei Höhen, 630 mm und 780 mm, verfügbar ist. Wie beim Stuhl/Lehnstuhl sind Sitz und Rückenlehne entweder aus Holz oder formgespritztem Kunststoff mit CbM*-Beschichtung sowie ohne Bezug, mit bezogener Sitzfläche oder vollständig bezogen erhältlich. Die durchgängigen Befestigungsknöpfe aus Aluminiumdruckguss sind in derselben Farbe wie das Gestell gehalten. Die Beine verlaufen entlang der Rückenlehne in einem Bogen nach oben und bilden einen eleganten Handgriff, sodass der Stuhl leicht anzuheben und umzuplatzieren ist. Eine Fußstrebe bietet praktischen Halt. Gestell verchromt oder pulverbeschichtet (CbM*).

ROCCA Hocker
Der einzigartige Hocker Rocca ist jetzt auch in einer weiteren Sitzhöhe verfügbar (630 mm) und eignet sich somit für Tische mit einer Höhe von 900 mm. Die verspielte Formgebung von Rocca ermuntert zum aktiven Sitzen. Der Ring sorgt für Beweglichkeit, und die Sitzfläche bietet Komfort. Beides zusammen bildet eine harmonische Einheit. Der Hocker Rocca ist ein besonderes Möbelstück für aktivitätsbasierte Treffpunkte, das leicht umzuplatzieren ist. Gestell verchromt oder pulverbeschichtet (CbM*).

VAGABOND OFFICE KIT Zubehör

Dekorative und praktische Ablagefächer in zwei Größen sowie Stiftehalter sind neue Zubehörprodukte, die miteinander kombiniert als Einheit oder auch als Einzelkomponenten verwendet werden können. Beim Vagabond Project werden sie in der eingelassenen Zubehörbox platziert, sie können aber auch mit jedem anderen Tisch genutzt werden. Die drei Vagabond Office Kit können in einer einheitlichen Farbe oder in unterschiedlichen CbM*-Farben ausgewählt werden. Zur Aufbewahrung von z. B. Schreibblöcken, Büchern, Büroklammern und Stiften.

Ein äußerst praktischer, spezialdesignter Stuhlwagen, der mit den folgenden Stühlen/Lehnstühlen aus dem Sortiment von Materia genutzt werden kann: Adam, Anagram, Mayflower, Neo Lite, Stack und Stack+. Für max. 15 gestapelte Stühle. Gestell schwarz pulverbeschichtet. Die großen Rollen erleichtern den Transport und können bei Bedarf arretiert werden.

Unser völlig neu gestaltete Website ist bedarfsgesteuert (der Inhalt passt sich automatisch an Ihren Bildschirm an) und enthält viele verbesserte Funktionen, die Ihnen den Besuch auf unserer Website angenehmer gestalten sollen. Beispielsweise können Sie sich leichter als je zuvor von uns inspirieren lassen. Sie können Bilder nach Umgebung, Möbel oder Fallstudie sortieren. Außerdem haben wir eine Funktion entwickelt, die wichtige Informationen beim Drucken oder Speichern als pdf automatisch zu einem Produktblatt zusammenfasst. Surfen Sie ein bisschen und lernen Sie unsere Website und ihre vielen Möglichkeiten kennen.

Das Jahr 2014 markiert den Beginn eines neuen Kommunikationskonzepts. Wir von Materia denken bei der Arbeit gerne in großen Zusammenhängen. Unsere Inspiration für revolutionäres Möbeldesign ist das menschliche Miteinander. Dies betonen wir durch das Konzept „Design triff…“, das unter anderem als Annonce in Branchenzeitschriften und Zeitungen zu sehen ist.

– Das neue Konzept wurde in der Einrichtungsbranche bereits äußerst positiv aufgenommen. Der kommunikative Kunstgriff, vom Alltag der Benutzer auszugehen und zu zeigen, wie unser Möbeldesign diesen Alltag gestaltet, zeichnet ein echtes und authentisches Bild unserer Produkte, so Tobias Söder, Vertriebs- und Marketingchef bei Materia.

Das neue Konzept wurde auch in die neue Website von Materia integriert, auf der die Besucher Inspirationen und Informationen jetzt noch einfacher finden als je zuvor.
